Teaching and Learning Highlights

The Geography curriculum emphasizes authentic and experiential learning to broaden students’ horizons beyond the classroom. Through structured fieldwork, local investigations and overseas study tours, students apply geographical knowledge in real-world contexts, strengthening their inquiry skills, collaboration and problem-solving abilities. Outdoor learning experiences, including residential field camps and cross-border exchanges, enable students to connect physical and human landscapes with issues of sustainable development and national development, fostering a stronger sense of national identity and global awareness.
To cater for learner diversity, differentiated teaching strategies, scaffolding tasks and enrichment and remedial programmes are implemented to support students of varying abilities. AI tools and digital platforms are incorporated to promote self-directed learning, language enhancement and data analysis skills, while STEAM elements are integrated into geographical investigations to enhance analytical and technological competence.
The department also promotes extensive reading through updated reading-across-the-curriculum materials on current global and national issues. Value education, including responsibility, perseverance and respect for others, is embedded in discussions of environmental conservation, resource management and National Security Education, nurturing students to become informed, ethical and proactive global citizens.
