World Heart Day 2024, organized by the Hong Kong Red Cross and co-organized by Sik Sik Yuen and the SADS HK Foundation, was held on 12 October. More than 120 teachers and students from five secondary schools sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen learned Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED). In the presence of the Secretary for Education, Dr. Choi Yuk-lin, JP, the Vice-chairman of Sik Sik Yuen, Mr. Ma Chak-wa, MH, CStJ, guests, and principals of the secondary schools, the students performed a ‘CPR Showcase’ to demonstrate their learning achievements.
In her speech, Dr. Choi Yuk-lin, JP, Secretary for Education, urged the public to learn first aid so that they can ‘lend a helping hand to save lives in case of accidents’.
